Lucinda Miller, passionate advocate for paediatric nutrition and mother of three children who’ve been heavily supported by a functional medicine approach, wowed audiences last November and is back with a fascinating new presentation on “Immune Dysregulation, Neurodivergence & Mental Health”.
Naturopath Lucinda is founder and clinical lead of NatureDoc, a UK-wide team of naturopaths, nutritionists and nutritional therapists and author of the bestselling nutrition bible and cookbook, The Good Stuff and I Can’t Believe It’s Baby Food. She has lectured on paediatric nutrition, as well as neurodivergence, on the degree course at the Institute for Optimal Nutrition, drawing on challenging personal experiences as well as her naturopathic and functional medicine training. “My eldest had some attention and co-ordination problems which affected his writing and organisation, and some chronic bowel issues”, she says.

‘The Oral Microbiome – why do we need to factor it in for full body health and how can we test it?’
The oral microbiome is a complex ecosystem of microorganisms that make it the second largest and most diverse microbiome after the gut.

About Dr Victoria Soraya Sampson BDS MFDS RCS Ed Pg Dip
Dr Victoria Sampson is a functional dentist and researcher based in central London. She obtained her Bachelor in Dental Surgery from Barts and the London and is now known for her work in developing salivary diagnostics and microbiome testing. Her work has been acknowledged worldwide resulting in her becoming a scientific advisor, board member and clinical lead of multiple dental companies globally as well as a topical team member of the European Space Agency and NASA. Victoria has published numerous papers and was the first dentist in the world to link gum disease with worse COVID complications. Victoria is also the first dentist to shortlist for Forbes 30 under 30 in Healthcare and Science in Europe and has launched her own oral microbiome test, ORALIS 1, which assesses the saliva for bacteria, inflammatory markers, and genetic mutations. Her aim is to help predict and treat patients at risk of oral diseases, as well as help patients achieve full body health through the mouth first. She has also cofounded a multidisciplinary health centre in London aimed at putting the mouth back in the body and connecting the oral microbiome with general health.

About Alex Wilber MSc (Personalised Nutrition), PhD (University of Oxford)
Alex has a background in science, with a degree in Chemistry from Cambridge and a PhD (DPhil) in Physics from Oxford. He worked for nine years as a scientific consultant specialising in developing medical and diagnostic devices, before retraining as a Nutritional Therapist. Alex now runs Cambridge Functional Medicine, a busy practice in the fens specialising in hypothyroidism. Since the advent of ChatGPT Alex has had a somewhat obsessive interest in AI, and he spends much of his free time developing AI software projects.
‘Microbiome and Personalised Nutrition: how accurate testing can transform our clinical practice’
Personalised Nutrition interventions require a highly specialised set of skills that combine cutting-edge multiomics testing and more traditional Functional Medicine assessments. There is increasing evidence to suggest that the microbiome plays a central role in driving disease risk and influencing diet and supplement response. With so many tests available in the market that frequently offer inconsistent results, selecting the most scientifically sound tests that can also be used clinically is of paramount importance. Microbiome data can be used in conjunction with several other subsets of information, ranging from Nutrigenetics to Metabolomics, to develop a truly individualized treatment plan.
About Elena Panzeri MSc
Elena has been consulting with Intus Biosciences, a US-based technology company specializing in an innovative microbiome test- GutID- for more than two years, assisting them in developing reports that are highly actionable from a clinical standpoint. As a result of her experience, she has been exposed to hundreds of microbiome profiles from patients all over the world, gaining an unparalleled level of expertise, particularly in the field of complex cases.
Presently, she is focused on implementing and translating all omics technologies into clinical practice in order to offer cutting-edge testing to patients in addition to more traditional healing methods.
