‘Eating with ADHD and Autism: The science behind appetite dysregulation explained’
Sarah Osborne, So Nutrition

Leading nutritionist Sarah Osborne explores how brain chemistry and structure, genetics and the gut–brain axis can influence eating behaviour in ADHD and autism. Sarah will discuss the effects of neurotransmitters, brain networks, dopamine regulation and genetic polymorphisms on emotional regulation, impulsivity, appetite, reward and food-related behaviours.

Sarah will also discuss the effects of stimulant and non-stimulant ADHD medications on appetite, weight and mood, and how pharmacogenetics may help predict medication response and side effects. Practitioners will gain insights into the connections between genetics, microbiome diversity and nutrition, with practical strategies for supporting neurodivergent clients in clinical practice.
