I have quite a few clients who are in perimenopause and suffer from rosacea. It was interesting to see this condition mentioned on the list when you recommended to start with the optimisation phase for 3-4 weeks and then the maintenance phase. Can you talk about the maintenance phase again? You said it could be 1 or 2 tbsp.
Rosacea in perimenopause can involve mucosal and epithelial barrier instability.
The optimisation phase of FIX (3 Tbsp/day providing 15 g glutamine) is used short‑term for intensive soothing and repair when symptoms are more active. The maintenance phase typically shifts to 1–2 Tbsp/day depending on the client’s symptom load:
1 Tbsp/day = for stable skin, good diet, and low flare frequency
2 Tbsp/day = during stress, seasonal change, travel, or flare‑prone periods
Can this be given to children – a 2 year old with eczema? what dosage would you recommend?
FIX is formulated for adults, and its dosages of zinc, copper, vitamin D, and botanicals have no established safety data in young children so it would not be something that we could actively recommend to such young individuals unless under direct clinical supervision from a paediatric nutrition professional.
If you suffer from a lot of mucus is it coming from the breakdown of intestina; mucosa?
Mucus production is usually a protective response, not necessarily mucosal breakdown. It can be caused by many things including irritation or inflammation, food sensitivities, dysbiosis, histamine responses and general post‑infectious changes. So, it is difficult to know what the cause is without trialling some dietary restrictions, for example reducing higher histamine food consumption and judging if symptoms improve. It is complex so a structured plan should be designed to understand what is likely to be the cause.
What about l-glutamine with clients who have a previous cancer diagnosis?
Glutamine is widely used in clinical nutrition, including oncology settings (e.g., mucositis support), and is not contraindicated in most cases. However, because oncology recommendations vary, the safest guidance is that FIX can certainly be considered, but high dose amino acid use should be discussed with the client’s oncology team when there is a history of cancer to ensures alignment with their medical plan and cancer type.
I have a client at present prescribed statins. Is it possible to take the product with statins?
There are no known interactions between FIX ingredients and statins, the ingredients do not interact with statin metabolism. But like with all medications, we still advise to take them before supplementation in alignment with prescriber guidance.
Is it possible to purchase Elenzia Fix directly ie. not via nutritionist?
Yes, customers can purchase directly through us at www.elenzia.com if they do not wish to go through a nutritionist.
My daughter has chronic UTI’s and is being treated using 2-week courses of antibiotics to eliminate species by species embedded in biofilm in her bladder. The long-term use of antibiotics will have done significant damage to her gut health. What would you recommend she does – could she use FIX ongoing in parallel to her treatment?
Yes. FIX is compatible with antibiotics helping to preserve and promote mucosal integrity during repeated antibiotic courses.
I guess is not suitable for breastfeeding clients?
Correct. Although many individual nutrients in FIX are used widely, there is limited safety data for the herbal extracts in breastfeeding, so we always err on the side of caution.
